Skansen Lehde
Local name: Freilandmuseum Lehde
The open-air museum is devoted to life in the countryside in the 19th century in the Spreewald area of Lower Lusatia. There are four original farms transferred entirely to the museum from different parts of the region. There you can see home furnishings and furniture, farm buildings, a stable and a shed for boats.
The museum houses a small folk art gallery and an exhibition devoted to handicrafts, basket weaving, crops and traditional costumes. A separate exhibition presents the history and production process of the so-called pickled or pickled Spreewald cucumbers, typical of the region.
During the tour, you can also take part in craft shows and try your hand at building a traditional log cabin, walking in wooden clogs, and even milking cows.
