South Cemetery

The largest cemetery in Leipzig and one of the largest in Germany. It was founded in the second half of the 19th century. It belongs to the type of cemetery-parks popular in Germany. About 10,000 rhododendrons and azaleas grow on its territory. In the central part of the cemetery there is a neo-Gothic crematorium surrounded by chapels. The whole complex looks like a castle from afar.
