Fischen im Allgäu is a mountain resort and climate resort in the Alps. The area offers picturesque hiking trails and cross-country skiing in winter.
The town was already known in the 10th century as a local craft and trade center. It consisted of a settlement and independent farms scattered on the surrounding slopes of the mountains. From the nineteenth century, cross-country skiing began to develop here, and this is documented by the Ski Museum located in one of the historic, traditional houses.
Today, Fischen im Allgäu is a popular holiday destination with an excellent climate. There is an outdoor recreational pool and the Fiskina Spa House. there are over 50 km of trails and hiking paths in the area.
A big attraction in Fischen im Allgäu is the Squirrel Forest. It is a natural forest park where these lovable animals live. Many of them are tame and approach people. There is a golf course on the edge of the park.
