Local name: Kurfürstendamm

Kurfürstendamm street connects Breischeidplatz in Charlottenburg with Rathenauplatz in Wilmersdorf, and its history dates back to the 16th century. It is the main street of the western part of the city and Berlin's most popular shopping boulevard. In addition to luxury shops and service premises, Kurfürstendamm houses cafes, restaurants, hotels, a private theater and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church.

On over 3.5 km of the street there is, among others Berlin's oldest shopping center - Europa-Center, Hugo Boss boutiques, Giorgio Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Versace, Prada and Cartier, Bulgari and Rolex jewelry studios.

The street name is derived from the German word 'Kurfürst' and means prince elector of the Holy Roman Empire. Kurfürstendamm in literal translation into Polish is 'Grobla Elektorska'.
