Bayerisch Eisenstein is a tourist and winter sports destination on the German-Czech border. It lies at the foot of the Großer Arber mountain and offers excellent conditions for summer and winter hiking in the surrounding mountains.
The village has preserved traditional buildings with partially wooden houses, as well as the historic building of the railway station and glassworks. In the glassworks, you can take part in glass smelting demonstrations and see exhibitions with local craftsmen's products, while in the station buildings there are exhibition halls in which exhibitions about the history of the city are presented.
The most important attractions of Bayerisch Eisenstein are related to the location of the village and the opportunities for winter and summer sports. In winter, on the slopes of the Großer Arber, there is a ski resort with several kilometers of ski slopes. There are also cross-country skiing tracks in the area.
In summer, in turn, hiking and biking trails as well as the possibility of active recreation at Lake Großer Arbersee await tourists. There is a boat, canoe and pedal boat rental, and a small beach.
