The Jean Jacques Henner Museum is housed in a 19th-century mansion in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. It presents the artistic output of the Alsatian painter, his paintings, sketches, graphics and drawings.
Jean Jacques Henner was born in Alsace and came to Paris at an adult age. He painted mainly in the spirit of symbolism. The museum was founded in 1924 by the artist's niece. For this purpose, she rented the house of another painter, Guillaume Dubufe.
The artist's works from different periods of his life are located in the house dating back to the end of the 19th century. In many cases, sketches for them were compiled with the finished works. The exhibition allows you to see the entirety of Henner's work.
