Hobro is a town situated at the end of the deep Mariager Fjord. It is a place where, due to numerous archaeological discoveries, the Viking Center was created with the reconstruction of the village from the 9th-10th centuries.
The picturesque location by the fjord gives the area many landscape values. You can get to know them on walks, for example along the Bramslev Bakker trail. There is also a marina in Hobro with places for private tourist boats.
Hobro's biggest attraction is the Fyrkat Viking Center. It is a village reconstructed on the basis of numerous archaeological discoveries, where you can see what the life of the Vikings looked like in the 9th and 10th centuries. Numerous historical and outdoor events are organized in the museum.
The district with the former port areas is very attractive. Numerous cultural institutions were located in the post-industrial halls. The most important of them are the Mariagerfjord Sea Cultural Center, the Gas Museum and the Ship Museum. In the older part of town, the Hobro Museum is housed in a historic half-timbered house, and the Hobro Mini Zoo is a popular family attraction.
