Marselisborg Castle
Local name: Marselisborg Slot
The historic estate is the summer residence of the Danish royal family. It consists of a palace, the administrator's house next to the main gate, a stable and a picturesque park. The residence can only be viewed from the outside, it is not open to the public. The park, on the other hand, can be visited all year round, except in the summer when the queen is staying in the residence.
The palace was built in the Classicist style at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It has two storeys and developed basements and attic. On the ground floor there is a representative vestibule, two spacious symmetrical staircases located in towers on both sides of the entrance and several salons. Among them there is a dining room with an adjoining lounge, a billiard room, two offices and a room for the marshal of the court. The first floor is the private apartments and bedrooms of the royal family and guests.
