The Museum of Contemporary Art is housed in an Art Nouveau building renovated in the late 20th century in the city center. There are permanent and temporary exhibitions showing mainly Czech art of the 20th and 21st century.
The museum is part of the Olomouc Art Museum. His permanent exhibition is focused around the most important Czech artists of the last hundred years. Paintings, sculptures, artistic installations, multimedia works, artistic fabrics and contemporary design are shown here. On the first floor in the same building you can also see a collection of European paintings from the 16th to 18th century from the collection of Charles von Liechtenstein-Castelcorno. During the renovation of the building, a viewing tower was made available for tourists, from which you can admire the panorama of the Old Town.
