The church Francis in Šibenik is part of the monastery complex belonging to the Franciscan order. An entrance with a stone finish in the Gothic style leads to the interior of the church, inside we will see the remains of frescoes from the fourteenth century. It is also worth paying attention to the painted wooden vault of the temple.
The church Francis was founded in the second half of the fourteenth century in the Gothic style, but in the seventeenth century was rebuilt in the Baroque style. Altar paintings by Mateja Pončun come from this period. The church's curiosities also include organs made in 1762 by Petar Nakic.
Within the monastery complex there is also a library and archive, which stores numerous antique manuscripts and books. One of the most valuable exhibits is a document from 1375, which is one of the oldest texts in Croatian written in the Latin alphabet.
