Pomorie is located on a picturesque, rocky peninsula overlooking over 3 km into the sea. Is a well-known health resort using salt from a nearby salt lake and a sea bathing area.
The town's history dates back to the 6th century BC, and its natural values and healing mud were already known in Roman times. As a health resort it developed in the 18th century, and today's buildings are largely contemporary. The main attraction of the town, apart from the wide, sandy and very well managed beach, is the salt lake Pomorijskie.
The lake was considered a holy place by the Tatars because of the healing properties of its mud. Thanks to research conducted in the 20th century, it turned out that they are extremely effective and can be used in medicine. Sanatoriums located on the peninsula specialize in the treatment of cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, heart and liver diseases.
An additional advantage of the village is the specific microclimate, rich in iodine and other minerals. Tourists resting by the sea at the same time improve their health, especially the respiratory tract.
