The extensive beach is over 2.5 km long and 100 m wide. It is covered with soft, golden sand, which, combined with a gentle descent and clean water, makes it a perfect place for families with children. The beach is divided into two parts, one of which is guarded by lifeguards during the season, and the other remains wild.
There are sanitary facilities (toilets and showers) on the beach. There you can rent beach equipment and use the changing room. Nearby there are bars, restaurants and a paid car park. There is also a campsite in the vicinity.
The beach is surrounded by the poplar forest from which it takes its name - "kavak" means poplar in Turkish. Along it also runs a strip of white dunes, which have been under protection since 1985.
