Formergarewo is an intimate resort on the Black Sea. There are sandy beaches and small, often family-run pensions and hotels. A landscape attraction in the area is Cape Kaliakra with the ruins of the fortress.
The location of the village in a bay sheltered from winds makes it the perfect place for a quiet family holiday. The most famous beach in the area is Bolata Beach with crystal clear, calm waters. There are bars and a rental of leisure equipment. Zelenka Beach is also very popular.
The main attraction of Pełgarew is the nearby Cape with the Kaliakra Fortress. Its origins date back to Greek times, and the fortifications were successively expanded until the Turkish rule. Currently, the renovated ruins can be visited, and items found during the excavation work are on display at the Kaliakra Museum.
