Stubenberg is a Styrian holiday resort, which is great for family holidays. Thanks to hot summers and a vast lake, it is a place of summer recreation known in this part of Austria.
The village lies at the foot of the Alps, among gentle, wooded hills. Many slopes are covered with vineyards, and the local wines, like apples, are valued among gourmets. The village is picturesquely scattered over a mountain slope, and in its center there is a medieval church and a castle that once belonged to the Stubenberg family.
The biggest attraction of the town is Lake Stubenberg. It is a 40 hectare water reservoir, whose banks are developed for sports and recreational facilities. There are beaches, playgrounds, swimming pools, water equipment rentals and camping. In the village itself you can find many beds in guest houses and apartments.
Stubenberg is also known for its balloon flights and competitions. There are several companies that specialize in organizing flights for tourists.
