Queen's House

The Queen's House is a former royal residence, dating from the first half of the 17th century, now converted into a museum. There are 450 paintings here, including a marine-themed collection, created between the 17th and 20th centuries. There is, among others the famous portrait of Elizabeth I with Armada in the background. The residence also features a spiral staircase, the first of its kind in Britain.

It was on this cage that a photo was taken to prove that the residence is haunted. In 1966, a Canadian couple visited Queen's House and, after developing a photograph, saw a blurred figure in one of them, even though they were alone at the time. So far, it has not been possible to definitively deny or confirm the truthfulness of this photo.

Queen's House was the first building in England to be built in a classicist style from scratch. Initially, it complemented the Greenwich Palace. It was mainly used by Queen Anne and her court, but only until the civil war broke out in 1642.
