Quantum Cloud

Quantum Cloud is a modern sculpture, designed by Antony Gormley, erected next to the Millennium Dome in London. The sculpture is 30 meters high, which makes it the highest in Gormley's artistic output. It consists of a collection of tetrahedral units made of 1.5-meter steel sections. They were arranged using a computer model with a random algorithm of gait on the surface of the enlarged figure based on Gormley's body, which creates a residual outline in the center of the sculpture.

The sculpture was completed in 1999. Her project was created under the influence of Basil Hiley, quantum physicist. The idea for a quantum cloud came from Hiley's concept of space as the mathematical structure underlying space-time and matter, and his comment that "algebra is a relationship of relationships".
