St George's Church
Saint Gregory's Anglican Church located in Hanover Square in Central London. The building erected at the beginning of the 18th century belongs to the first-class monuments in Great Britain. We will find him in one of the richest districts not only in London, but also in the world: Mayfair.
The church was designed by the English architect John James and became a popular place of marriage between the aristocracy. Among others, the wedding ceremony of Theodore Roosevelt of Edith Carow and the architect of noble houses Henry Holland took place here. St Georges was also used in cultural texts, also in wedding scenes: he appears in the movie "My Fair Lady" or in "Noble Knight" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
The temple could not have been built, however, were it not for Scottish General William Steuart, who founded the clergy his land for the construction of the church. He also laid the first stone in 1721.
