Royal Academy of Music Museum
The Royal Academy of Music Museum is a museum of musical instruments and artifacts and the research center of the Royal Academy of Music. It has three permanent galleries and regularly changing exhibitions and expositions. Together, they cover a range of eras, instruments and themes. The museum has, among others a collection of over 200 string instruments, including several by Antoni Stradivari. There are also collections of manuscripts, letters, teaching materials and mementos of famous musicians and conductors.
The museum was opened in 2001, supported by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The facility is an integral part of the life of the Royal Academy of Music. The collection also includes items related to the history of the institution, such as student records, programs, award boards, certificates, medals and commemorative photographs. Recitals, seminars, workshops, special events and family activities are regularly held here.
