Clarence House

Clarence House is a royal residence located in London, more specifically in City of Westminster. It is located next to the Palace of Saint James and shares a palace garden with it. The place has been owned by the royal family since its inception in 1827, and since 2003 it has been the official seat of the Prince of Wales and his wife, the Princess of Cornwall.

Clarence House is very important for Great Britain, hosting the most distinguished representatives of the royal family in its salons. For almost 50 years, from 1953 to 2002, the royal residence was home to Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, queen mother. From 2003, it was the official residence of Prince William from 2003, until his wedding in April 2011, as well as Prince Harry from 2003 to 2012.

Clarence House is listed as a National Heritage Site in Great Britain. The author of the design is architect John Nash, although little is left of the original nineteenth-century construction: the building underwent many renovations, especially after World War II.
