St. James's Park

St. James's Park is one of the oldest parks in London, because it was founded in 1603. It belongs to a group of eight royal parks. It is located in the City of Westminster and is adjacent to Buckingham Palace, The Mall, House Guards and Birdcage Walk. The area of the park is 23 hectares.

In the park you will find a small lake with two islands: Duck Island and West Island, where we can observe many waterfowl specimens. The blue bridge over the water reservoir is a popular vantage point to Buckingham Palace and the Foreign Affairs Headquarters.

In the northern part of the park we can visit the Palace of St. James, one of the oldest in London, belonging to the complex of buildings of the royal court in this part of London. Built in 1536 in the Tudor style at the behest of King Henry VIII, it is one of the many decorations of St. James's Park.
