Herne Hill Market

Herne Hill Market is a market held once a week (on Sunday), where farmers, food producers, local artists and craftsmen from around 100 miles around London meet. Around 50 stands and small shops, often run by family businesses, are set up on a partially closed street.

Herne Hill Market is one of many London fairs managed by City & Country Farmers Markets. It was founded by Chris Elder, who started as a producer and supplier of high-quality vegetarian dishes. CCFM began with the bread market, gradually expanding the range of high-quality products based on local raw materials and manual work.

Chris Elder emphasizes that the purpose of his business is not only the sale and promotion of small businesses, but also the strengthening of local ties, building a commercial environment based on community of interests and neighborhood. Herne Hill Market has been positively rated by Mary Portas, a popular BBC presenter who runs the "Mary Queen of Shops" program.
