Crystal Palace Park
Crystal Palace Park is located in the south-east of London. Situated on Norwood Ridge, it is an excellent observation point. The park's main attraction are the original-sized dinosaur models and a hedge maze that make the park a great place to relax with children.
The name of the park comes from the palace building in which the Great Exhibition took place in 1851. The Crystal Palace was originally erected in Hyde Park and moved to the area of the current Crystal Palace Park in 1854. The palace burned down in 1963.
The park has an area of 80 hectares, and walking through it you can pass, among others lake, amphitheater, Italian terraces - a remnant of the Crystal Palace, a museum thematically referring to the Great Exhibition, as well as a bust depicting Sir Joseph Paxton, palace architect.
