Cairngorms National Park

Cairngorms is the largest national park in terms of area in Great Britain. It covers an area of over 4,500 km2 of mountainous areas and rocky heaths. There are as many as four of the five highest peaks in the country. Hiking and cycling routes have been marked out in the park. There are 12 golf courses, the first permanent bungee jumping station in the UK and the Highland Folk Museum.

The park was created in 2003 by the decision of the Scottish Parliament. The areas included in it are half-winded. Many species of birds characteristic of this climate live here. The most valuable are: mountain grouse, golden eagle, snowy owl, black grouse and capercaillie. You can also find deer, roe deer, wildcats and otters.

Rivers and lakes flowing through the park are considered one of the cleanest in the world. This place is famous for from salmon fishing. You can also rent water equipment, mainly kayaks.
