Isle of Wight

An area of exceptional natural beauty, i.e. AONB, on the Isle of Wight, occupies about half of the island, mainly its southwestern and northwestern coasts. It also covers nearly half the shoreline, including the Hamstead and Tennyson Heritage Coast areas. There are sharp cliffs, long beaches, as well as fields and forests. You can walk, bike and horse here. The proximity of the coast allows water sports and fishing.

Isle of Wight is one of the few places in the British Isles where you can find red squirrels, but there are no gray squirrels. Wild deer and a wild goat colony also live here. Among the smaller mammals, it is worth mentioning dormice, dormouse and bats.

The island found the most dinosaur fossils in Europe. In total, bones of about twenty species of various dinosaurs were discovered here.
