St. Fagans National Museum of History
The St Fagans National Historical Museum is an open-air museum depicting the Welsh architecture, culture and lifestyle over the years. There are over 40 buildings from various places in the country and transferred to the castle of St Fagans. They include: a chapel, a village school, a pigsty and a tannery. The museum also houses exhibitions of traditional crafts, including a forge and ceramic and weaving workshops. There are also two working water mills: a flour mill and a wool mill.
Although the museum's goal was to preserve aspects of Welsh rural life, there are now several industrial buildings. The facility is part of the network of national museums called Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales.
The museum was founded in 1946 under the name Welsh Folk Museum (Welsh Folk Museum). The institution's Welsh name has remained the same until now, while its English version was first transformed into the Welsh Life Museum and then into the St Fagans National Historical Museum.
