Disentis / Mustér is a mountain tourist village situated in an alpine valley. In winter, there is a ski resort with downhill and cross-country tracks, and in summer, 150 km of hiking trails are available to tourists.
The village was founded probably at the beginning of the 8th century with the establishment of the Disentis Monastery. It is now its most important monument. The medieval abbey was rebuilt in the baroque style in the 18th century and nowadays you can admire rich interiors with beautiful stuccoes and altars. The monastery museum houses the works of sacred art.
Currently, Disentis / Mustér is primarily a center of active tourism, both winter and summer. There are several lifts and cable cars in the local ski resort, including the Disentis-Caischavedra cable car, the Gendusas cable car, and the Lai Alv cable car, which reach an altitude of 2,833 m above sea level. The ski slopes in the resort are medium and difficult, and there are also over 30 km here. cross-country skiing trails.
In summer, hiking is possible in the area. Some of the lifts also operate at this time of the year, ensuring the possibility of getting to the higher-lying trails without the need for a long climb.
