The Federal Palace of Switzerland in Bern is a symmetrical building complex with a length of over 300 m. It consists of a central building, which houses the parliament, two side wings and a library. The central building consists of two rooms, separated by the Dome Room. The palace is characterized by rich artistic decoration.
The construction of the Federal Palace of Switzerland in Bern lasted from 1852 to 1902. Architect Hans Auer is responsible for its design and implementation. In the palace, the Swiss Federal Assembly and the Federal Council, which exercise legislative power in the country, meet. Swiss political parties also have their headquarters here.
The dome of the palace has an external height of 64 m and its internal height reaches 33 m. It is surrounded by the coats of arms of 22 cantons. Among the interior decorations, the mosaic of the Swiss Federation coat of arms with the Latin slogan: Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno - One for all, all for one is noteworthy.
