Cathedral Square
Local name: Münsterplatz
The square is located in the medieval city center, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The square is also part of the Zähringerstadt, which was built during the founding of the city in 1191. In 1430, the church courtyard was demolished to make room for a large square in front of the new cathedral. Over the following centuries, the square was widened and expanded.
