Bagnes is a mountain commune of the valley of the same name in the Pennine Alps. It is surrounded by over 3 thousand. m above sea level, peaks from which glaciers descend. It is an important ski center with numerous slopes.
Bagnes Valley belongs to the famous ski resort of the Four Valleys. In total, it has over 400 km of ski slopes on glaciers and the slopes of the Alps reaching an altitude of 3,300 m above sea level. In the Bagnes area there are about 100 km of slopes of various degrees of difficulty, which are served by numerous cable cars and lifts, including the Verbier-Les Ruinettes cableway, the Chaux cable car -Express, La Tzoumaz cable car, Savoleyres cable car.
Another attraction of the Bagnes valley is the highest in Europe, 237 m high arched dam. It forms the Lac de Mauvoisin lake, which is a popular destination for excursions. The tongues of the Gietro, Tsessette and Mont Durand glaciers descend to the shores of the lake.
