Bad Ragaz is a ski and health resort that benefits from the local thermal springs. It offers tourists over 40 km of ski slopes, numerous hiking trails and the possibility of bathing in warm mineral waters.

The hot springs around Bad Ragaz have been known since the Middle Ages. In their vicinity was the Pfäfers Abbey. Pilgrims came to him to take advantage of the benefits of warm baths, which had a positive effect on improving health. In 1535, the famous philosopher and physician Paracelsius came to Pfäfers, who described the local sources and contributed to their popularization.

The first baths were built in the Pfäfers Monastery in 1716, but as it was situated in a relatively poorly accessible area, in 1840 warm water was brought to the village of Ragaz, which quickly became a popular spa and health resort. In the 19th century, luxurious hotels and guesthouses, as well as baths and other spa facilities were built here. Currently, the most important of them are the Tamina Baths.

The spa town of Bad Ragaz offers not only hot baths, but also a wide range of leisure activities. There is a golf course, walking paths, and hiking and biking trails in the surrounding mountains. They run, among others to the peak of Pizol and to the mountain lakes that occupy the surrounding valleys.

In winter, on the slopes of Pizol, at an altitude of 1,600 to 2,200 m above sea level, there is a ski resort with 40 km of ski slopes, as well as numerous cross-country ski runs, a toboggan run and freeride runs. They are served by cable cars and lifts such as the Pardiel-Laufböden cable car and the Golden Bad Ragaz cable car.
