The Ethnographic Museum located on the island of Djurgården in the center of Stockholm in the Museum Park. Established in 1900, although its collection dates back to the seventeenth century. We will find here about 220,000 objects related to ethnography and cultural anthropology, coming from various places in the world: Africa, China, Korea and both Americas.
The Stockholm Ethnographic Museum stands out above all the only Japanese Tea House in Scandinavia, where we can admire the tea ceremony.
The objects in the museum were donated by missionaries, diplomats or individual collectors. As part of the permanent exhibition, there are 8,000 here. In addition to permanent and temporary exhibitions, we also find a restaurant, a cafe and a museum shop. Workshops are provided for children, as well as special family guided tours.
