Palamós is a famous resort on the Costa Brava, famous for its beautiful beaches and picturesque location. The city combines the charm of a former fishing village and the advantages of a modern holiday resort with well-developed recreational and entertainment facilities.

The village is located in a bay and consists of two parts, a former fishing village with preserved traditional buildings, a harbor and pier where fishermen sell fresh fish and seafood, and a modern resort with hotels and holiday apartments for rent.

The most important beach is La Fosca Beach, covered with golden sand with small rocks by the shore. A bit away from the main part of the city is the sandy Castell Beach, where you can, for example, rent kayaks and other water equipment. A completely different atmosphere is offered by the narrow, pebbly beach in Margerita Bay, situated in the fishing part of the village, where you can see traditional fishermen's houses, and swaying boats on the water. Peace and intimate atmosphere can be found in the Bay of S'Alguer, surrounded by traditional houses.

The most important monument of Palamós is the Castle of Sant Esteve, standing at the top of the seaside cliff. It can be reached via a path from La Fosca Beach. There are unforgettable views of the coast from the top.
