Palafrugell is a town on the Costa Brava with three seaside resorts, Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranc and Tamariu. It is known for its nice, sandy beaches hidden in secluded bays and preserved historic fishing buildings.
Although since the second half of the 20th century, Palafrugell has developed primarily as a holiday resort with numerous hotels and apartments, the former fishing villages that are part of it have retained their historic buildings. The former fishermen's houses now house restaurants, shops and intimate guesthouses. On the beaches, you can still see the boats used by fishermen to catch fish and seafood.
The various parts of Palagrugell are connected by the coastal route Cami de Ronda. From it you can admire the developed coastline and swaying boats on the water. The coast around the city is strongly fragmented, full of coves and peninsulas. The local beaches, Palafrugell's biggest attraction, do not form a continuous line, but are hidden and separated from each other by rocky headlands. This is conducive to peaceful relaxation and ensures that Palafrugell has retained its intimate character.
