The San Fernando market hall in Madrid was founded in 1944. It was renovated in 2014 and has since been a very popular meeting place for the residents of the capital and tourists. You can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, fish and seafood, bread and confectionery. Bars and restaurants invite you to enjoy delicacies from around the world. Interesting events are organized here, for example, you can dance salsa.
However, the San Fernando market is not just a culinary offer. Visitors to this place can also purchase products from local artists and craftsmen - jewelry, ceramics, handmade soaps and original clothes. You can also take part in workshops and learn how to create these things yourself.
The hall design was prepared by the architect Casto Fernández-Shaw, the interior resembles a small town with a central square and streets departing from it. From the outside, the monumental shape refers to the palace architecture.
