Las Ventas is the largest bullring arena in Spain, its stands can seat 23,798 spectators. An interesting fact is the decorations of ceramic tiles with the coats of arms of the Spanish provinces, which were made by Manuel Muñoz Monasterio. People who want to see a bullfighter fighting a bull should visit Madrid between March and October.
In May, as part of the celebration of 'Feria de San Isidro', a festival is held to which tourists come from all over the world. However, bullfighting is becoming less and less popular and has been completely banned in some regions of Spain.
The arena was designed in the Neo-Moorish style, you can see the influence of fascination with the culture and architecture of the Orient. Established in the 1920s, the author of the design was the architect José Espelius. The first bullfight took place here in 1931.
