Faunia is a combination of a zoo and a botanical garden. Amazing shows and activities for visitors are organized here, including bathing in the company of nice sea lions. You can move between different ecosystems, such as the jungle or the Arctic zone, getting to know the animals and plants living in them.
For guests there is also a zone called Antarctica, in which they will get to know the penguins living here and a little cold in the middle of the hot Madrid summer. They will also have the opportunity to look at what appetite crocodiles eat their meal.
The garden was opened in 2001. It is famous for breeding endangered species. The name "Faunia" was created in the studio El nombre de las Cosas, whose founder and creative director is the Spanish poet Fernando Beltrán.
