Faro de Moncloa

Local name: Faro de Moncloa

Faro de Moncloa is a tower 110 meters high. On the 92nd meter of the structure, a viewing platform was created from which you can admire the panorama of Madrid and the Sierra de Guadarrama mountain range. Tourists can reach the terrace using trained outdoor elevators. You can count on a short lecture of the guide, which tells about the objects seen below.

The tower was designed by the famous Spanish architect Salvador Pérez Arroyo. The project was created in 1990, while construction was completed two years later.

For security reasons, the tower was closed to tourists from 2005 to 2015, after a fire of another high structure - Torre Windsor. Renovation works and tests were in progress at that time. New rooms and elevators were created, the security system was strengthened. Today, the time spent on the platform for one group is limited.
