The Monastery of Sant Pau del Camp was recognized as the oldest religious building in Barcelona, it is in the register of Spanish monuments. It was built in the 13th century in the Romanesque style. The chapter house contains the tomb of the founder of the order - Wilfred II. Above the main entrance you can see a tympanum decorated with a bas-relief with images of Jesus and Saint. A characteristic feature of the building are the decorative arches that refer to Muslim architecture. Capitals crowning the columns are decorated with floral and animal motifs, they also depict biblical scenes as well as figures of warriors and mythical creatures such as mermaids.
The church was built on a Greek cross plan, has one nave. The interior is modest, the most important decoration is stained glass. From the outside you can admire the belfry designed in the Moorish style.
