The Cat sculpture made by the Spanish sculptor Fernando Botero stands at Rambla del Raval. It is a modern, somewhat naive figure of a squat cat with a long tail. It is a popular meeting place and a characteristic point of reference in this part of Rambli.
The Cat sculpture was ordered in 1987 by the Barcelona Council. It was performed by Fernando Botero, who also carved the famous Horse, which is a meeting place at Barcelona Airport. The cat changed its place of residence many times before it hit Rambla. He stood, among others, in Cutadela Park, at the Olympic Stadium or in the vicinity of the Maritime Museum. He stood where he was in 2003, when a new section of Rambla, called Raval, was marked out.
