Chapel of St. Agata (Capella de Santa Àgata) in Barcelona, otherwise the Royal Chapel was built in the Gothic style at the beginning of the fourteenth century. You can admire many monuments of sacred art, including altar with a picture of the Epiphany scene, whose author is Jaume Huguet. The chapel is open to tourists.
A valuable monument is also decorative floor tiles with images of angels by Joan Claperós. The main nave has a historic coffered ceiling. Stained glass windows topped with Gothic traceries make a great impression on visitors.
The chapel is located in the oldest district of the city - Barri Gòtic. It belongs to the Barcelona History Museum, is part of the palace complex. It was built on the orders of King James II of the Just and his wife, Blanka of Anjou.
