The church of the holy martyrs Justa and Pastor is located in the Gothic Quarter. It is a medieval building with a wide facade, in which the lower parts of the towers have survived. The church is one-nave with a polygonal presbytery. In the chapel of Saint Felix and the Holy Cross you can see the 16th century altar.
According to records, the church of Saints Justa and Pastor is the oldest temple in Barcelona. It was built in 801 during the reconstruction of the city after the French invasion. Nothing has survived from this oldest Romanesque church. The current temple dates from the fourteenth century. Its facade was rebuilt in the 19th century in the neo-Gothic style.
The church stands on the small square of Saint Just, being one of his frontages. Its facade with towers cut at the top of the peak gives the impression of unfinished. On the side there is a polygonal, 15th century tower. The interior is finished in stone and decorated only with carved geometric motifs. There is a much later, Renaissance altar with a colonnade in the presbytery.
