Local name: Tatranský symbolický cintorín
The symbolic necropolis was established in 1940 on the initiative of a Czech mountaineer and painter, Otakar Štáfl. A plaque devoted to him is located next to several hundred others, commemorating people of different nationalities who died in various parts of the world. Among them are famous Polish climbers - Wanda Rutkiewicz and Jerzy Kukuczka.
