Cross-country skiing trails in Strbske Pleso are the largest such complex in the High Tatras region. There are eight routes of varying difficulty here. They are 1.5 to 5 km long. Apart from them, there are two hiking trails around the Strbske Pleso pond.
The traditions of cross-country skiing in the High Tatras date back to the beginning of the 20th century. Currently, all towns belonging to this region have their own ski runs. Those in Štrbské Pleso gained recognition, and in 1970 they were held at the Nordic World Ski Championships.
The routes in Strbske Pleso are well prepared. There are marked ski tracks, which are improved in the event of snowfall. There is also a ski stadium here.
