Stara Lubowla Open-Air Museum
Local name: Ľubovniansky skanzen
The open-air museum in Stara Lubovla is located at the foot of the local castle. It presents wooden construction and material culture of the population living in the Spiš region. You can see here furnished and fully equipped residential houses, outbuildings, as well as a school, craft workshops and a Greek Catholic church.
The open-air museum buildings form a settlement under the castle, which looks like a former borough. The buildings are arranged so that they recreate the appearance of a traditional village from these areas. In the farms you can see furniture, home furnishings, household appliances and handicrafts.
The museum presents workshops that operated in former villages. It is a smithy, sawmill and mill. You can also see the school and the forester's cottage here. The 19th century Greek Catholic church from Matysova was also transferred to the museum.
