Monument of Sturovce

The Sturovce Memorial is located on Ludovita Stura Square. It presents the figures of the Slovak writer and national activist and his companions. It is kept in the spirit of monumental socialist art, which by its appearance was to emphasize the size of the presented figures.

Ludovit Stur is one of the most important figures in the history of Slovakia. This writer and national activist was one of the leaders of the Slovak Spring of Nations. In 1972, Stur and his companions lived to see a monumental monument in the center of Bratislava. Blurred, barely outlined figures placed on four concrete pylons facing the four directions of the world. Below is a disc with an occasional inscription.
