The Weapons Museum is located in the Michalska Gate in the Old Town of Bratislava. It presents the history of the city's fortifications and the development of military technology. You can see here melee and firearms, old cannons, tournament weapons. On the top floor there is a viewing terrace.
Due to its location in the only preserved city gate of Bratislava, the Museum in part of its exhibition focuses on the history of the walls that protected the city from attack. Their spatial development, stages of construction and later destruction were shown.
The second exhibition is devoted to the development of weapon techniques from medieval times to the present day. There are swords, shields, spears, axes and other elements of knightly equipment, as well as ceremonial tournament weapons. The following centuries bring exhibits such as sabers, rapiers and bayonets. The evolution of firearms through the centuries is also shown.
