Horsky park
Local name: Horský park
Horsky Park is located on the slopes of the Kalwaria Hill northwest of the center of Bratislava. Established in the second half of the 19th century, the green area is a natural oasis in the city center. The local paths, often unpaved, are a favorite place of Bratislava cyclists and runners. On the slope there is also a terrace offering nice views of Bratislava.
The park was founded with the thought of creating an area as close to natural as possible. For this purpose, many species of trees and shrubs were brought here, which were planted to resemble a grove. Paths have been marked out among the vegetation, which slant up the top of the hill.
There are Kalwaria stations in the park, and the church itself is erected on top of a hill. Numerous religious ceremonies take place here. There are popular pubs and bars just outside the park.
