The Bukowina Village Museum is a spacious open-air museum located in the city of Suceava, imitating the appearance of a traditional Bukovina village. There are several dozen buildings, mostly from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A visit to the museum allows you to trace the realities of the everyday life of a Bukovinian peasant, including his work, family and spiritual life.
In the open-air museum you can see farms with huts and barns, ceramic workshops, warehouses and a forge. There is also an inn and a village school. A water mill was built next to the stream flowing through the museum, and in 2001 an entirely wooden Orthodox church from Vama, dating back to the second half of the 18th century, was moved here.
During your visit, you can take part in demonstrations of traditional craftsmanship and in workshops.
