Bukovina Museum

Local name: Muzeul Bucovinei

The Bukovina Museum in Suceava is located in a historic building built at the beginning of the 20th century in a mixture of neoclassical and neo-baroque styles. There are 27 exhibition halls where you can trace historical exhibitions from the Paleolithic to the second half of the 20th century.

The first fifteen rooms are devoted to archaeological discoveries. They contain exhibits from archaeological sites, mainly in the area. They include collections of ornaments, weapons, utensils, coins and textiles. Events and historical issues from modern times are presented in the following rooms. The last exhibitions concern the events of 1989.

On the facade of the building, to the left of the main entrance, there is a white marble memorial plaque placed here in 2004 on the occasion of the 500th death anniversary of King Stefan the Great.
