The Archaeological Museum in Adamclisi is part of the Tropaeum Traiani museum complex. It is located in a building put into use in 1977 as a lapidarium for archaeological finds from excavations carried out in the area.
The centerpiece of the museum is the original statue from the top of the monumental Tropaeum Traiani monument. You can also see most of the metopes here, depicting scenes from the Dac's fights with the Romans, which were originally located in the central part of the monument.
The museum's collections also include tools, lamps, decorations and ceramic collections, including dishes from the Hamangia culture and Greek, Roman and Byzantine amphoras.
